The Manifest Quran

On the accomplishment of the English translation of the Holy Quran by the miraculous pen of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri. May 15, 2023 is a day for gratitude and thanksgiving by the Muslims of the world in general and the young generation living in the West as well as the Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran in particular.

On this blessed and blissful Monday before Maghrib prayer, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir Qadri achieved the unique and auspicious distinction of translating the Holy Quran from Arabic language directly into English language."This is Allah's bounty which He grants whom He like."-

As per historical record, the Quran had been first completely translated into Greek language in the 9th century AD. In the Islamic world, the Quran had been translated by Shaykh Nizam-ud-Din Neshapuri (728 AH) in Persian language. In the sub-continent, the Persian translation of the Holy Quran that won laurels was by Shah Waliullah Mohaddith Dehalvi (1174 AH) titled Fath-ur-Rehman ba-Tarjama-tul-Quran. Later, the Quran was translated into many other languages. But, it is for the first time in the history of translations of the Quran that a translator has achieved the unprecedented milestone of directly translating it from Arabic into two different languages. Earlier, scholars had either translated the Quran into their respective mother or national language or any other language. Later, other people would further translate it into other languages.

It may be mentioned that Shaykh-ul-Islam (may Allah bless him) had accomplished the Urdu translation of the Quran under the title of Irfan-ul-Quran at 3.20am (Tahajjud prayer time) on July 20, 2005 AD. Later, this work was further translated into English and published under the title of The Glorious Quran. It was in fact the English version of Irfan-ul-Quran. It may be noted that translations of the Quran in modern English were missing from the market at that time. However, translations in ancient difficult English were available. Therefore, The Glorious Quran had been received as a distinctive and latest translation of the Holy Quran then. This work had been accomplished 17 years ago. Now it was necessary to provide insight and comprehension of the Holy Quran in contemporary modern English to the young generation that had grown up in the Western world.

In view of this need, Shaykh-ul-Islam (may Allah bless him) has translated the Quran directly from Arabic into modern-day, familiar and easy-to-understand common English. Furthermore, all praise be to Allah, Shaykh-ul-Islam has accomplished both the tasks through his miraculous pen with the blessings of Allah but without the help of any other human.

If God wills, the new English translation of the Quran will soon be published under the title of The Manifest Quran. Its launching ceremony will be held at the three-day Al-Hidaya Camp at the University of Warwick, UK, in the last week of August 2023.
