In an age dominated by distractions, dwindling commitment, and a growing disconnect from spirituality, there exists a remarkable individual whose life defies convention and inspires awe: my Murabbi, my Guide, my Teacher, my Pride, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. His life, marked by extraordinary devotion, tireless effort, and unmatched scholarship, is nothing short of a miracle in this era.
Unlike many great scholars or leaders who excel in a single domain—be it Quran, Hadith, or Tasawwuf—Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has mastered and harmonized them all. He embodies the essence of the entire Ummah, seamlessly integrating all facets of Islamic knowledge. His life is a divine gift, and I am profoundly grateful to have witnessed even a fraction of his monumental journey.
His recent Dora-e-Bukhari Shareef stands as yet another testament to his unparalleled scholarship and deep spiritual insight. Through this sacred event, he illuminated the timeless wisdom of the Hadith with precision and love, reviving hearts and strengthening the connection of countless individuals to the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It was not merely an academic discourse but a transformative experience, breathing new life into the legacy of our beloved Prophet ﷺ.
Even now, at 74 years of age and despite health challenges, his energy and dedication remain extraordinary. It feels as though he has lived multiple lifetimes in one, achieving what seems humanly impossible. His
relentless work ethic, balancing countless projects with profound personal engagement, showcases a stamina and commitment that defy comprehension. He continues to guide, mentor, and inspire people from all walks of life, spreading love and wisdom with humility and grace.
With over 1,000 books to his name—including masterpieces like Irfan-ul-Quran, The Quranic Encyclopedia, and The Manifest Quran—he has brought the Quran's wisdom to millions. His Hadith collections are treasures for scholars, while his teachings on Tasawwuf have revived the spirit of love, peace, and divine remembrance. Through his groundbreaking Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings and interfaith initiatives, he
has reshaped global perceptions of Islam, presenting it as a religion of peace, unity, and compassion.
His humanitarian efforts through Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) have uplifted countless lives by providing education, healthcare, clean water, and disaster relief. Platforms like Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League and Minhaj Youth League empower women and youth to grow spiritually and contribute meaningfully to society. His leadership has transformed countless ordinary individuals into beacons of hope, ready to carry forward his mission of love and service.
Every so often, I encounter people who share how their lives were touched by his teachings—whether through a book, a lecture, or a single profound thought. These moments remind me of how far-reaching his impact truly is. It feels as though his work transcends time and space, connecting hearts and minds across the world. To think that one human being could achieve so much in one lifetime is a miracle in itself.
Had he not stood as a beacon of light in this time of confusion, how many souls like mine would have remained lost in the void? How many hearts would have continued to wander, unaware of the beauty of Allah’s message and the profound wisdom of the Holy Prophet ﷺ? He gave us clarity when the world was shrouded in misguidance, and he taught us how to recognize the infinite depth of Islam—not just as a religion but as a divine system of love, peace, and harmony.
For someone like me, who is a nobody in this grand scheme, Shaykh-ul-Islam’s teachings have been a source of transformation. His mission has allowed even the smallest among us to find a place in this sacred journey. It is because of his tireless work and unwavering dedication that people look up to us—not for who we are but for the mission we are fortunate to represent. The charm, the wisdom, and the strength we carry are reflections of his ceaseless love and devotion to the Holy Prophet ﷺ.
Words fall short in expressing how indebted I feel for his existence in this world. Every moment of his relentless striving is a gift to humanity. His life is a testament to the power of faith, love, and service, and his legacy will continue to shine as a guiding star for generations to come. May Allah make us worthy of being a part of his blessed mission, and may we continue to carry the light he has ignited with sincerity and dedication.
As he turns 74 this year, I pray for his health, long life, and for myself to be a dedicated, active, and committed part of his mission, Mission-e-Muhammadi ﷺ. Ameen
